Our School Mission…
Blackburn Primary School’s mission is to develop and nurture a community of learners who confidently believe in their ability to be successful citizens in the 21st Century.
Our Journey Begins here…
As your child takes their journey through the school years at Blackburn Primary School they will receive more than just a great education. Students are offered a rich, diverse and stimulating range of opportunities that will spark their creative interest, inspire them and encourage them to be life long learners.
This journey begins in Foundation, where your child will be introduced to school life via a caring and dynamic team of Foundation teachers. They endeavour to support your child in every way as they enter this exciting new stage of their lives.
The Foundation year is an important year and we recognise you feel this way too. There are numerous social activities and transition for parents, including information sessions and social events for families. We offer a start to schooling that is as much about caring for you as it is about caring for your child. You are just as welcome as your children to take part in their learning and help your child to reach their full potential.
When it comes to your child we have a strong focus on community and friendships. We encourage thinking positively and resilience. We want your child to fit into the school community and to feel safe and happy. Ultimately this leads to inspired children who take risks with their learning so they explore and attempt new and challenging tasks
We offer an extremely strong curriculum for all major learning areas evidenced by our exemplary NAPLAN results in Year 3 and 5. We also care about providing creative experiences and opportunities for your child to learn. In Foundation, your child will have access to excellent programs including Visual Art, Music, Mandarin and Physical Education. Our sporting facilities include a Gymnasium with a full size basketball court, a running track and tennis courts. We have an acclaimed bands program from Year 3 to 6 and students have access to private instrumental tuition. Walk with us, on this learning journey with your child.
